As you may know, i live in Ferndale, right up against Detroit. This town is hipsterville, queertown, and clubland all rolled into one, and it's really great! One of the amusements for aged, overweight former punks or hippies like me in the hood is observing the dance of obeisance the kids do trying to get past the doormen in front of the nightclub as we walk or motor by. The most exclusive and famous lounge is The Bosco, a small place with an understated footprint, internationally known as one of the best cocktail and music scenes in the country. Imagine my amusement when i found this gem, a new advertisment (probably more accurately, a buzz-maintenance video) called The Chain.
So cute, and i like the view of places i walk every week. While tracking this down on youTube, there were a few other clips from The Bosco, including this one, Thriller Girl, which is pretty hysterical. i've been watching this thing over and over again, and as much joy as it's given me, it makes me very glad they didn't have cell phones with cameras when i was 21!
You and i may never see the inside of The Bosco outside of these vids, but is you're curious about the famous music mix, there are two fine CDs of Bosco Prime Cuts available. They are very good, and often can be found at Record Time as well.
Wow, so we will never actually get IN to this place, eh? Too bad, I wonder about it as I pass...
